A Cup of Love

Welcome to day two and my first love: Coffee.  Okay, that may be an exaggeration, but it’s at the top of the list. In a caffeine crazed society, you would assume that it was my love simply because it is the only way to successfully make it through five 8-5 days in a row.  Wrong.  My love of coffee is rooted in the days of coffee parties.

Coffee party (noun): a gathering in which a little girl and her father sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee and hopefully a cookie.

I might have started drinking coffee early in life, but this basic love I will never outgrow.  The simplicity of sitting for a minute, not worrying about life, just enjoying.  This sensation is so ingrained in me, that the pure taste of coffee brings relaxation and pleasant thoughts (especially on cold mornings and stressful days).

The joy of a cup of coffee cannot be held in, it must be shared (atleast occasionally). The truth is, as I have grown, coffee parties have turned into coffee dates and coffee breaks.  Some of life’s most complicated problems have melted away after a simple cup of coffee and a conversation with a friend. I am not alone in the belief of coffee’s magical powers, as coffee shops have become packed with friends, coworkers, and families taking a break out of their day.

Were I not on the bus when I read this post, I would have given it a standing ovation. If coffee ever needs a publicity agent, I’ll know who to call 🙂
