Theater, take one

week 3 starts with an exploration: the theater!

I could easily go back to a time when the main form of entertainment was live. This experience was in a smaller venue then the holiday concert, but it was just as vivid. The theater was almost cozy with the actors so close to you as if you were in your living room.

The knowledge that the actors only get one take is riveting. The fact that they can tailor their show to the specific audience, and that actors are so talented to successfully do so.

I think back to my favorite musical, Wicked, and seeing it in the Ford Theater in Chicago (only the second show I had ever seen). I was awestruck that the set was so beautiful, the actors so lively, and the feeling of being there so real.  Those memories become realities at every show I attend.
